Stockroom & Material Control: Oversee all stockroom and logistics activities, including receiving, material storage, kitting, inventory control, and material movement to the production floor. Ensure inventory accuracy, material traceability, FIFO discipline, and proper handling of controlled and sensitive materials.
Compliance & Risk Management: Ensure all planning and logistics activities comply with applicable defense industry regulations and standards, including ITAR, DFARS, AS9100 flow-downs, and customer-specific requirements.
Personnel Management: Directly manage planners and stockroom personnel, setting clear priorities, monitoring performance, and driving accountability. Identify performance gaps and implement coaching, training, and process improvements to strengthen planning accuracy and execution discipline.
Process Improvement: Champion continuous improvement in planning and logistics processes, including lead time reduction, inventory optimization, system utilization, and visual management.
Performance Metrics: Track, analyze, and report planning and logistics KPIs such as on-time delivery, kit readiness, shortages and inventory turns, providing regular updates to site leadership.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations, Business, or a related field.
5+ years of experience in production planning, logistics, or supply chain roles, with at least 2 years in a leadership or supervisory role, preferably in electronics or defense manufacturing.
Proven experience supporting high-mix, low-volume production environments.
Strong working knowledge of MRP-driven planning, inventory control, and shop floor material flow.
Solid understanding of defense industry compliance requirements affecting planning and logistics functions.
Strong organizational, analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Proficient in Excel for data analysis, planning reports, and KPI tracking.
Must be a U.S. Citizen.
Preferred Skills:
Experience with ERP/MRP systems (e.g., XA, SAP, Oracle, or equivalent).
Familiarity with electronics manufacturing environments and material requirements (e.g., cable assemblies, components, kits, test units).
Experience managing stockroom operations, cycle counts, and inventory accuracy initiatives.
Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, schedule-driven manufacturing environment.
Interest in improving planning rigor, logistics execution, and material flow through creative yet compliant approaches.
