Job Description

Hood Container Corporation is seeking a Production Planner / Scheduler to join our operations in Atlanta, GA.  This role will be responsible for the planning and scheduling of materials and will coordinate with commercial, production, and maintenance teams to improve overall effectiveness & efficiency for our Corrugator and Converting Operations.  This position will report to the Area General Manager. 

How You Will Contribute:

• Daily scheduling of the corrugator using Kiwiplan and converting equipment using Amtech computer systems
• Work collaboratively with customer service and manufacturing teams to develop and balance a plant production schedule for the entire plant
• Work closely with customer service and manufacturing to communicate production status, required resources, manage overruns, shortages, ship and delivery dates
• Maximize plant throughput while balancing customer requirements and manufacturing capability
• Leads the daily production meeting.
• Maintains daily machine schedules
• Maintains accuracy of counts and completion of work
• Clarifications of Change alerts generated by Sales service and verification of acknowledgement
• Performs various other job duties and projects as assigned.
• Roll Stock inventory management

What it Takes:

• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• 3-5 years of manufacturing scheduling experience
• Effective written & verbal communication skills
• Organized and detail oriented
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Excel and Word

What will put you ahead: 

• Bachelor’s degree or higher 
• Five or more years of corrugated or folding carton scheduling experience
• Experience with computer systems, (Amtech, Kiwi, etc) 
• Multi – Plant coordination and support
