Job Description

Experience/skills that would be valuable:

• Previous experience operating a planetary grinding machine

• Experience grinding chrome-plated parts is particularly relevant.

• Ability to read blueprints and understand tolerances.

• Experience using micrometers and other precision measuring tools.

• Ability to work with large cylindrical components.

• Attention to dimensional accuracy and surface finish.

• Ability to work safely around rotating machinery and industrial equipment.

Because H&M Plating Company specializes in precision grinding and finishing of industrial components, experience with cylindrical grinding, chrome plating, hydraulic components, shafts, or similar metal-finishing work would be directly relevant.

Typical duties may include:

• Set up and operate planetary grinding machinery.

• Grind plated and unplated cylindrical metal components to specified dimensions.

• Perform rough and finish grinding operations.

• Select and dress grinding wheels appropriate for the material and required finish.

• Read blueprints, drawings, work orders, and dimensional specifications.

• Use micrometers, calipers, gauges, and other precision measuring instruments.

• Monitor part dimensions throughout the grinding process.

• Make machine adjustments to maintain required tolerances.

• Inspect finished parts for dimensions, surface finish, defects, and quality.

• Safely load, unload, and properly position heavy or long industrial components.

• Maintain grinding equipment, tooling, and work area.
