Join our Legacy  

Reporting to the production manager, the pitter machine operator set up pitter machines for different sizes of fruit and maintain them during operation, completing some mechanical tasks when needed to adjust the machine properly.

 

Your Contribution to Excellence 

  • Attach all necessary hoses to accumulation tanks.
  • Fill up the accumulation tank with water.
  • Install all necessary safety guards.
  • Close and open valves.
  • Make up salt to the correct level for flotation tanks. 
  • Operate control panels for accumulation tanks, elevator, flotation, bypass conveyor, fruit belts, return belts, pitter belts, fruit gates, knife gates, speed controls, screw drive belt.
  • Change knives, cups, slicer knives, pitter knives. 
  • Clean machines during operation.
  • Change over all machines during size change.
  • Change screens every size change. 
  • Supply enough fruit to the canning line.
  • Drain water from start tank to the proper level.
  • Separate fruit by size. 
  • Prepare time report every day.
  • Set up and operate slicer machine and dicer machine when necessary.
  • Make minor repairs and adjustments.
  • Oil and grease machines.
  • Put empty bins under shakeout and take away full bins.
  • Maintain work area clean, neat, and orderly condition
  • Meet all productivity and efficiency standards as outlined by management.
  • Follow all safety rules and regulations, including active participation in the prompt identification and communication of safety hazards.
  • Must be able to work any shift and weekends as necessary.
  • Monitor recycled water filter system.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
  • Immediately report all food safety and food quality problems to your supervisor.

What you Bring to the Table

  • Machine operator experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Bilingual preferred
  • Basic math
