Job Details:
Hours are: 2:30 PM-11:00 PM or upon completion of assigned work
Number of Employment is three times.
There is a 90 day rehire period to be considered for this position.
SUMMARY: The Picking Room Operator will be directly responsible for the operation of Scalders and Pickers. Secondary responsibility will be to back up CAS Operator with offal equipment monitoring including gut and feather auger, gut and feather tumblers, feather conveyor, and denaturant. The Operator will be responsible for auditing the above mentioned equipment and making adjustments to correct issues seen and communicating with the control room.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Walk the line as birds arrive at blood tank ensuring that all machines from blood tank to last picker have proper infeed
Audit Scalders to determine effectiveness of equipment and make adjustments to correct discrepancies.
Audit Wing Scalder to determine effectiveness of equipment and make adjustments to correct discrepancies
Audit Pickers to determine effectiveness of equipment and make adjustments to correct discrepancies
Control Scalder Blowers at shut down
Control water during production and breaks
Communicates all adjustments to the control room
Work with Maintenance personnel on issues when adjustments do not seem effective
Communicate with QA personnel to determine needs for adjustments
All other essential duties as directed by the Production Manager
QUALIFICATIONS:
Ability to comprehend machine adjustments
Excellent attention to detail
Ability to pass a comprehensive training period
Ability to work overtime as required
Education and/or Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Physical Requirements / Environment:
Stand/Walk: Continuously 8 or more hours
Lift/Carry: Continuously (1- 42 lbs.)
Simple/Firm Grasping: Frequently
Other Physical Requirements:
Bend/stoop, squat, reach above shoulder (up to 1 ft.): Occasional
Environment: Continuously - Working around moving machinery.
