Summary:
Founded in 1982 by legendary aircraft designer Burt Rutan, Scaled Composites is an aerospace company continually working to push boundaries, prove out ideas, and influence the future. We are a rapid prototyping and manufacturing facility, designing, building, and testing proof-of-concept and prototype vehicles. We have flown an average of one new aircraft type per year over our 40-plus year history such as Proteus, GlobalFlyer, SpaceShipOne, Model 401, and Stratolaunch.
Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Assists with processing bi-weekly payroll, including reviewing timecards, deductions, and all data relevant to timely payroll completion.
- Updating and maintaining payroll records, including exemptions, insurance coverage, elective deductions, employee status changes, 401(k) contributions, and garnishments.
- Conducts routine timekeeping audits, including reviewing timecard approvals, meal period compliance, and premium pay requirements.
- Administering manual checks outside regular payroll dates (such as voluntary or involuntary terminations).
- Resolving payroll discrepancies and auditing payroll information and processes to ensure accuracy.
- Providing excellent customer service by supporting employees with tax withholding changes, direct deposit updates, and other payroll needs.
- Advising and informing employees and managers on applicable payroll laws, regulations, and company payroll procedures.
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma &2yearsof related education, i.e.: business or accounting and/or relevant work experience.
- Proficiency in the Microsoft office suite (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).
- Working knowledge of FLSA and applicable federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
- Experience performing basic payroll calculations.
- Ability to obtain and/or maintain DoD security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
- 1 year of experience performing extensive payroll duties
- Payroll processing experience (ADP, Deltek Costpoint, etc.) including relevant regulatory requirement
