 What You Will Be Doing:

The Pathfinder Regional Product Support Manager is responsible for the successful execution of the Pathfinder Power Solutions aftermarket business plan to maintain customer satisfaction in alignment with the company’s vision – the elements of that plan including both direct parts and service sales through Pathfinder-owned parts and service support facilities as well as sales through second level dealers (SLD’s). The Regional Product Support Manager bears responsibility to ensure that the SLD’s under his/her tutelage are effective, capable and aligned with the Pathfinder Power Solutions and Perkins Engine Co.’s growth goals and brand promise.

This role will be responsible for the Mississippi, Louisiana and Arkansas territory.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the implementation and administration of the Perkins Engine Co. soon-to-be-launched Second Level Network (SLN) Program with assigned Second Level Dealers (SLD’s).
  • Evaluate existing assigned SLD’s as to performance and compliance with SLN program guidelines. Engage in a program to raise SLD’s operating standards requisites in order to meet compliance directives.
  • Assess aftermarket coverage for the Perkins’ Engine product. Identify weaknesses and initiate the process to augment SLD coverage through the addition of additional SLD’s. Assess, select and validate new SLD candidates. Remediate (if possible) non-compliant existing SLD’s. Terminate as required.
  • Monitor performance levels of each SLD, the elements of that performance criteria being a function of Second Level category definition.
  • Assess and implement SLD training program unique to each SL category and individual strengths and weaknesses.
  • Read and understand financial reports, balance sheets, cash flow and income statements
  • Develop annual budgets and regular forecasts to monitor how well business forecasts align with actual performance
  • Contribute to and implement business plans and adjust models to respond to and anticipate changing market conditions
  • Lead, direct and manage a “consultative selling” approach to identify and manage customer expectations
  • Proactively work with SLD’s and branches to maximize use of Perkins’ programs to ensure product support sales growth and customer satisfaction.
  • Set performance goals, monitor SLD and branch progress toward those goals, and continuously assess product knowledge and skill sets
  • Participate with Trade Shows and Customer Events to generate product support sales leads.
  • Maintain close relationships with peers in the Sales, Rental, Parts and Service Departments to understand operational opportunities and challenges.
  • Maintain good customer relations; intervene to solve problems and disputes; look for ways to enhance customer satisfaction within the scope of Pathfinder Power Solutions/Yancey Bros. Co. Mission Statement

  • Participate in required safety program, and work in a safe manner

Who We Are Looking For:

To be successful in this position you should have prior experience in diesel engine and/or drive train product support sales and at least three years of third party dealer development and administration. You should possess a strong sense of urgency and desire to provide superior customer service. The ability to take direction and work in a team environment is essential to this position as well.


  • Bachelor’s Degree from a four year college / university or related equivalent experience preferred.


Required Qualifications/Skills:

  • 5 to 7 years of experience in Diesel Engine and/or drive train product support sales.
  • At least 3 years of third party dealer development and administration.
  • Computer skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.).
  • Skilled in diesel engine application, parts and service support, engine failure analysis and warranty administration.
  • Skilled trainer. High level of interpersonal skills
  • Skills in effective organization, time management and follow-up.
  • Exceptional selling skills required: negotiation, cold calling, closing, and follow-up.
  • Possesses networking and strategic relationship building skills.
  • Ability to exhibit sound and accurate judgments when making decisions.
  • Ability to effectively influence actions and opinions of others.
  • Ability to establish and maintain a range of contacts within and outside the company in a highly professional manner; must be tactful and articulate.
  • Ability to deal with crises; remain calm and composed under pressure; ability to deal with customers under difficult circumstances.
