Job Overview:

Speed-Tech Equipment, an employee-owned service company, is seeking a dependable and mechanically inclined Parts Runner / Technician Assistant. This position supports our technicians by delivering parts and equipment, preparing materials, assisting with service calls, and completing basic shop and on-site repairs.

This is more than a parts-running position—it is an opportunity to begin a long-term technical career. The selected candidate will work alongside experienced technicians and gain hands-on exposure to equipment repair, preventive maintenance, welding and fabrication, hydraulics, electrical troubleshooting, and field-service operations.

Someone who demonstrates reliability, mechanical ability, initiative, and a willingness to learn may have the opportunity to advance into aField Service Technicianrole. Speed-Tech Equipment also offers tuition reimbursement for approved trade-related courses to help employees develop their skills and build a long-term career with the company.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver parts, tools, materials, and equipment to job sites
  • Pick up parts and materials from vendors
  • Load, unload, organize, and track parts and materials
  • Cut steel accurately according to provided cut lists
  • Measure materials using a tape measure
  • Assist technicians with jobs requiring two people
  • Perform basic in-shop or on-site repairs as directed
  • Safely operate basic hand and power tools
  • Maintain an organized shop, company vehicle, and work area
  • Follow company safety procedures and technician instructions
  • Work indoors and outdoors throughout the year
  • Assist with other shop and field-service duties as needed

Qualifications

  • Valid driver’s license with a good driving record
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
  • Basic mechanical knowledge or a strong interest in learning
  • Ability to accurately count, organize, and measure materials
  • Ability to read and use a tape measure
  • Comfortable using basic hand and power tools
  • Able to follow directions and work safely
  • Dependable, organized, and punctual
  • Strong work ethic and willingness to help wherever needed
  • Comfortable working independently and as part of a team
  • Willingness to work outdoors during all seasons
  • CDL is preferred but not required

Schedule

  • Full-time, first shift
  • Monday through Friday
  • Starting at 7:30 a.m. and generally working until approximately 5:00 p.m.
  • Occasional Saturday work
  • No Sundays

Compensation and Benefits

  • $18–$24 per hour, based on experience and demonstrated job competence
