Speed-Tech Equipment, an employee-owned service company, is seeking a dependable and mechanically inclined Parts Runner / Technician Assistant. This position supports our technicians by delivering parts and equipment, preparing materials, assisting with service calls, and completing basic shop and on-site repairs.
This is more than a parts-running position—it is an opportunity to begin a long-term technical career. The selected candidate will work alongside experienced technicians and gain hands-on exposure to equipment repair, preventive maintenance, welding and fabrication, hydraulics, electrical troubleshooting, and field-service operations.

Responsibilities
- Deliver parts, tools, materials, and equipment to job sites
- Pick up parts and materials from vendors
- Load, unload, organize, and track parts and materials
- Cut steel accurately according to provided cut lists
- Measure materials using a tape measure
- Assist technicians with jobs requiring two people
- Perform basic in-shop or on-site repairs as directed
- Safely operate basic hand and power tools
- Maintain an organized shop, company vehicle, and work area
- Follow company safety procedures and technician instructions
- Work indoors and outdoors throughout the year
- Assist with other shop and field-service duties as needed
Qualifications
- Valid driver’s license with a good driving record
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
- Basic mechanical knowledge or a strong interest in learning
- Ability to accurately count, organize, and measure materials
- Ability to read and use a tape measure
- Comfortable using basic hand and power tools
- Able to follow directions and work safely
- Dependable, organized, and punctual
- Strong work ethic and willingness to help wherever needed
- Comfortable working independently and as part of a team
- Willingness to work outdoors during all seasons
- CDL is preferred but not required
Schedule
- Full-time, first shift
- Monday through Friday
- Starting at 7:30 a.m. and generally working until approximately 5:00 p.m.
- Occasional Saturday work
- No Sundays
Compensation and Benefits
- $18–$24 per hour, based on experience and demonstrated job competence
