Position Summary

The Manufacturing Apprentice supports daily production and manufacturing operations while developing foundational technical skills through hands-on training and mentorship. This position is designed for individuals seeking to build a career in manufacturing, machining, assembly, production, quality, or industrial operations. The apprentice learns company processes, safety standards, equipment operation, and continuous improvement practices while assisting experienced team members.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist with manufacturing, assembly, fabrication, or production activities as assigned
  • Learn and follow all safety procedures, quality standards, and work instructions
  • Operate basic manufacturing tools and equipment under supervision
  • Read and interpret basic drawings, work orders, and production documentation
  • Support material handling, inventory organization, and workstation setup
  • Perform routine inspections and report quality or production issues
  • Maintain clean and organized work areas in accordance with 5S standards
  • Participate in training programs related to manufacturing processes and equipment
  • Work collaboratively with production, engineering, quality, and maintenance personnel
  • Assist with continuous improvement and efficiency initiatives
  • Accurately complete production and training records

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Interest in manufacturing, skilled trades, or industrial operations
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
  • Strong attendance, reliability, and work ethic
  • Basic math and measurement skills preferred
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift throughout the shift
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds as required
  • Manual dexterity for handling tools, components, and equipment
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise and machinery

Preferred Skills

  • Previous shop, technical school, or manufacturing experience
  • Familiarity with hand tools, measuring devices, or mechanical equipment
  • Basic computer skills

Work Environment

This position operates in a manufacturing or industrial environment and may require the use of personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety glasses, hearing protection, and safety shoes.
