Location: Reno, NV (USA Pkwy Fulfillment Center)
Schedule: Position would be 20 hours per week. Flexible schedule within the shift Mon-Fri 5am-1:30pm.
Pay Rate: $30.00 per hour
Employment Type: Temporary (6 weeks-12 weeks)

 

Position Summary

At Randa Logistics, the Entry-Level Industrial Engineer (Temporary) supports warehouse operations through hands-on learning, data collection, and time study analysis. This role is ideal for an Industrial Engineering student or early-career professional seeking practical experience in a warehouse environment.

The Industrial Engineer will learn all fulfillment center processes and conduct time studies and productivity analysis to help develop a fair and accurate incentive program. This position partners closely with operations leadership and frontline associates to observe workflows, document standard work, and support continuous improvement initiatives.

 

Responsibilities

  • Learn and understand all warehouse and fulfillment center processes through observation and job shadowing
  • Conduct time studies and work measurement analysis across various warehouse functions (e.g., picking, packing, receiving, shipping)
  • Collect, analyze, and report productivity metrics such as units per hour (UPH) and labor efficiency
  • Support the development and validation of a fair and accurate incentive pay program
  • Document standard work, process flows, and study findings clearly and consistently
  • Partner with operations and management to review data and provide improvement recommendations
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on efficiency, accuracy, and labor standards
  • Occasionally perform warehouse roles such as picking or packing to better understand processes and identify opportunities for improvement

 

Education / Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering or a related field required, unless the candidate is a current Industrial Engineering student
  • Current Industrial Engineering students with foundational knowledge of time studies and productivity metrics are strongly encouraged to apply
  • Foundational knowledge of:
    • Industrial engineering concepts
    • Time studies and work measurement
    • Productivity and performance metrics

 

Skills, Knowledge, Abilities

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel; ability to analyze and organize data
  • Strong attention to detail and documentation skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively with hourly associates and management
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced warehouse environment
  • Ability to adapt and work well in a dynamic operational setting

 

Working Conditions / Physical Demands

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods in a warehouse environment
  • Ability to observe and evaluate warehouse operations on the floor
  • Exposure to warehouse conditions such as noise, moving equipment, and varying temperatures
