Overview:
Plans, organizes, and responsible for an assigned production areas to assure product flow is with in operating parameters and flows smoothly. These objectives are accomplished by performing the following duties.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities:
- Responsible for work instructions corresponding with job
- Supports all personnel and activities involved in assigned area.
- Conduct weekly inventory of all supplies and chemicals necessary for production and communicate needs with Value Stream Manager.
- Update production schedules daily.
- Daily production reporting
- Consolidate daily scrap data into one report.
- Conduct daily count of available feedstock inventory.
- Perform TS 16949 compliance auditor responsibilities for the Value Stream.
- Responsible for the certification duties of the Value Stream in regards to TS 16949
- Participates in the development of standardized training and conducts training for all TS 16949 documents in the Value Stream.
- Reviews existing manufacturing methods and recommends new or revised methods to reduce scrap and cut costs.
- Maintain list of all Value Stream welder's P.M.'s, swaging tool calibrations, etc.
- Monitor and analyze machine standards per products on all production equipment.
- Collaborates and communicates with all leaders in the Value Stream to ensure the proper use of operational methods to reduce scrap and operating costs.
- Provides financial and technical justification for products, supplies, tools, and materials selection and definition
- Responsible for the storage of department materials and supplies
- Reviews progress continually. Maintains and prepares reports and records
- Responsible for initiating actions to prevent the occurrence of nonconformities, identifying and recording problems relating to product quality, processes, and quality systems, as well as controlling further processing or delivery of nonconforming product
- Adhere to all local and corporate safety policies. Promote department and overall plant safety objectives.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Core leadership skills – Coaching, planning, supporting, delegating, conflict management
- Communication – Meeting facilitation, instruction, counseling, verbal & nonverbal
- Decision making and problem solving, process improvement
- Proficient math, reading, and writing
- Knowledge of Excel, QAD, Word
- OSHA, EHS, TS16949 knowledge required
- Ability to coordinate resource for multiple functions simultaneously
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and schedules
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma
- Associates Degree preferred
- At least one year related experience
Work Environment/Physical Demands:
- Must be capable of lifting and/or moving up to 50 pounds
- Frequent walking required
- To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
- Must be able to work overtime either before or after normal starting times and on weekends
