Job Overview:

Description

CLX Engineering requires a skilled Panel Builder III to join our team of experienced professionals building electrical control panels, not circuit boards or PCBs. This is a hands-on, high-skill role requiring advanced wiring, troubleshooting, and close collaboration with engineers. If you're someone who thrives in a well-organized, UL508A-compliant environment and takes pride in precision, we’d like to hear from you.

Note: This position is not printed circuit board assembly or small electronics work. Our panels are full-sized industrial systems requiring a different skill set and scale.

What You’ll Do

In addition to core responsibilities, the candidate must demonstrate advanced troubleshooting capabilities, can proactively mark up and suggest changes to electrical prints, and collaborate with design engineers to optimize designs. Candidates at this level are deeply aware of project timelines and budget demands, consistently contributing to project success.

Primary Responsibilities

Panel Assembly and Wiring

  • Assemble electrical control panels with a thorough understanding of schematics, layout specifications, and UL508A standards.
  • Wire panel devices with expert-level accuracy and proficiency, utilizing advanced wiring techniques and knowledge of wire colors and associated protections.
  • Perform complex tasks such as precise stripping, cutting, labeling, and terminating wires.
  • Design and install brackets and components with a deep understanding of their functional and structural purpose.

Troubleshooting and Testing

  • Conduct comprehensive functional testing of assembled panels to ensure operational integrity.
  • Identify and resolve complex wiring or assembly issues independently.
  • Proficiently mark up and revise electrical prints to reflect accurate designs, suggesting and implementing improvements.
  • Collaborate with design engineers to refine panel designs, ensuring functionality and efficiency.

Tool Proficiency and Workplace Management

  • Operate hand and power tools with advanced skill and precision for panel-building tasks.
  • Maintain and enforce a clean, efficient, and safe workspace to support production efficiency and safety compliance.

Project Management Expertise

  • Work within and contribute to the optimization of established timelines and budgets.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members, supervisors, and engineers to ensure project quality and adherence to deadlines.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to less experienced team members, fostering skill development and productivity.

Adherence to Standards

  • Consistently apply and enforce UL508A standards in panel construction, demonstrating a deep understanding of relevant electrical codes.
  • Interpret and implement advanced equipment manuals to ensure proper installation and functionality of components
