Job Overview:

BHJ USA, LLC. is a leading supplier of fresh/frozen meat blends to both the wet and dry pet food industries. We are seeking a motivated individual to set up and operate palletizing machinery according to specifications and preprogrammed machine control instructions in the processing of raw materials for the pet food, pharmaceutical and feed industries by performing the following duties. Duties may vary by plant based on the types of machines that are operating.

Under the direction of the Production Supervisor, sets up and operates palletizing or other machinery according to specifications and preprogrammed machine control instructions in the processing of raw materials for the pet food, pharmaceutical and feed industries.  The Lead functions as a Shift Supervisor in their absence. Duties may vary by plant based on the types of machines that are operating.

  • In the absence of Production Supervisor, coordinate and supervise plant production by organizing and assigning work, instructing, guiding, and assisting employees in the attainment of production and quality goals
    1. Responsible for accurate preparation of all documentation related to production, shipping & receiving, safety and sanitation.
    2. Lead in the training and development of employees by managing performance and creating an environment in which they have the opportunity to succeed.
  • Responsible for learning and understanding the functionality of the palletizing machine.
  • Sets pallets in place to feed machinery for proper placement of product
  • Enters commands to start machine, observes operation, watch and follow correct sequences and monitors screen of machine controller for malfunctions and error messages.
  • Monitors the palletizing machine, wrapper with conveyors and correct machine settings as required using the preprogrammed instructions.
  • Monitors surroundings of palletizing machine for any obstructions that may interfere with proper operation, proactively corrects obstructions to maintain efficient operation of machine with checking sensors activity and proper location).
  • Always monitors proper placement of product by palletizing machinery and manually make program overrides to correct deviations.
  • Inspects pallet of product to ensure proper quality in accordance with customer specifications and company policies. Take core samples as necessary.   Wrap and weigh product.
  • Prepares (in a legible format) the proper production forms or reports noting accurate weights. 
  • Changes wrap film, removes waste from conveyors, checks pallet quality and loads pallet stacking station.  
  • Controls weights and traceability of product, bags pallet with correct liners, supplies slip sheets and fills liquid containers with charcoal and red dye.
  • Checks and controls label information. 
  • Operates traceability system.
  • Creates and maintains operating procedures for proper functionality of system, including problem solving and necessary operating functions). 
  • Notifies supervisor of numerical control programming problems. 
  • Performs proper housekeeping of equipment and surrounding area.
  • Adhere to all safety guidelines and wearing of all required safety gear (PPE).
  • Adhere, support, and enforce all company policies and procedures.

Maintains regular and prompt attendance during the working hours scheduled by the supervisor in accordance with our policies and guidelines

Will be frequently exposed to cool and wet conditions. Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds on a frequent basis and be able to work around raw beef, chicken or other similar raw materials and odors.
