$34.00/hr + $147.04/day Per Diem (Qualified Travelers) | 12-Month Contract | Full Time | Immediate Start

About the Role

Join a dynamic team at a leading shipyard in Pascagoula, MS, where your expertise as a Painter/Blaster will directly support marine and shipbuilding operations. Responsibilities

- Perform abrasive blasting using approved industrial equipment and techniques

- Prepare metal surfaces through sanding, grinding, masking, and cleaning for optimal coating adhesion

- Apply marine and industrial coatings with advanced spray equipment to meet quality and thickness specifications

- Inspect blast profiles and coating coverage to ensure compliance with project requirements

- Identify and correct surface defects, ensuring finished work meets stringent shipyard standards

- Set up, operate, and maintain blasting and painting equipment, including air hoses and spray systems

- Maintain tools and workspace in top condition, adhering to safety protocols and production schedules

- Work safely in confined spaces, at heights, and in varying weather conditions while wearing required PPE

Required Skills and Experience

- Minimum 3 years of recent experience as a Painter/Blaster in marine or industrial settings

- Proficient in abrasive blasting, marine coatings, surface prep, and airless spray application

- Experienced in reading and following technical work instructions and specifications

- Demonstrated ability to measure coating thickness and repair surface defects

- Capable of physically demanding shipyard work, including lifting, climbing, and extended shifts

Preferred Skills

- Experience with industrial painting in confined spaces

- Skilled in operating power tools and rust machines

- Familiarity with coating thickness measurement using mil gauge
