JOB SUMMARY
Painter I is an entry-level position responsible for preparing and applying industrial coatings on company products in a manufacturing environment. Responsibilities include surface preparation tasks such as sanding, grinding, cleaning, masking, taping, and metal preparation, as well as loading and unloading racks, staging materials, and preparing components for the paint process. The role applies paint and coatings to frames and C- to B-class parts using electrostatic, air-assist, and other industrial paint equipment while following established quality and safety standards. Painter I also supports production goals by safely operating equipment, maintaining a clean work area, and developing advanced coating application skills through on-the-job training and experience.
YOUR IMPACT

· Perform surface preparation tasks including sanding, grinding, masking, taping, washing, and metal preparation to ensure parts meet paint and quality specifications.
· Apply primer, paint, and touch-up coatings to frames and C- to B-class parts using electrostatic, air-assist, and other industrial paint equipment while maintaining coating quality and production standards.
· Load and unload racks, stage materials, and prepare components for the paint process safely and efficiently.
· Mix paints and coatings according to specifications while maintaining proper viscosity, consistency, and color requirements.
· Flush, clean, and assist with basic maintenance of paint lines, tanks, hoses, spray equipment, booths, and work areas in compliance with 6S and company safety standards.
· Inspect parts throughout the paint process to verify coating quality, coverage, and adherence to production standards.
· Read and follow work instructions, paint codes, safety procedures, checklists, and production schedules to complete tasks accurately and safely.
· Communicate quality concerns, equipment issues, and material shortages to supervisors and team members while supporting team goals and production schedules.
· Follow OSHA regulations, PPE requirements, hazardous material handling procedures, and all company safety and environmental policies at all times.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
· 6 months or more relevant experience OR a high school diploma or equivalent education
