Job Summary
The Cab Prep Technician position is responsible for preparing, of fabricated parts to meet the coating specification requirements of CIT customers.

Authority
Employees are required to follow procedures, work instructions and operational processes. The potential consequences for non-compliance may result in an increased rejection rate at the Customer, increased internal scrap rate, delayed or late shipments, personal injury, and a negative impact on the environment.
All employees have the authority to stop production and contain nonconforming product. Significant quantities of nonconformances must be reported immediately to management.
This position requires no supervisory responsibilities.
Qualifications and Experience
Familiarity with industrial coating is a plus
Experience in metal fabrication or parts manufacturing preferred
Consistent, quality technique, dependable performance and skilled attention to detail
Self-motivated individual that can perform with minimal supervision.
Maintains a safe and clean work area.
Must have valid driver’s license and vehicle.
Working Environment
Fork lift usage will be about 25% of the work week.
This job operates in a manufacturing environment.
While performing the duties of this position, the employee is occasionally exposed to loud noise, fumes and airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration; may work with or around chemicals that create a hazardous exposure which is defined on the accessible Safety Data Sheets; employee is exposed to moderate temperature changes over an eight-hour shift.

Ability to stand on ladders, kneel, bend down, and stretch; physically able to wear protective equipment on a regular basis as part of the sanding, prepping and painting process including respirator fit testing.
