Job Overview:

POSITION SUMMARY:  

We currently have an opportunity for an experienced paint repair specialist that fill an integral part of the final finish process at Barletta. Overall, your role as an pontoon paint repair specialist on fiberglass would involve preparing surfaces, matching colors, applying paint, ensuring quality, and providing a professional finish. Attention to detail, knowledge of paint techniques, and an understanding of fiberglass repair would be essential for success in this role. 

 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Surface Preparation: You would need to prepare the fiberglass surface for painting. This includes cleaning the area, removing any dirt, grease, or old paint, and sanding the surface to create a smooth and even texture.

 

  • Color Matching: You would be responsible for matching the existing paint color or creating a new color that matches the vehicle's original finish. This may involve using color charts or manual blending techniques to achieve an accurate color match.

 

  • Paint Application: Your role would involve applying paint to the fiberglass surface using various techniques such as spray guns, brushes, or rollers. You would need to ensure that the paint is evenly applied, avoiding any drips, runs, or uneven coverage.

 

  • Quality Control: As a pontoon paint repair specialist, you would need to inspect the painted surface for imperfections, such as air bubbles, dust particles, or paint irregularities. You may need to perform touch-ups or corrections to achieve a flawless finish.

 

  • Finishing and Detailing: Your job would also involve applying clear coats, polishing, and buffing the painted surface to achieve a glossy and durable finish. This step is crucial for protecting the paint and ensuring a high-quality appearance.

 

  • Safety and Compliance: You would need to Maintain a safe working environment and adhere to safety protocols, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) such as gloves, goggles, and respirators. Additionally, you would follow environmental regulations to store of all supplies and dispose of hazardous materials properly in a safe and orderly manner. Maintain and aid in the development of a repeatable process for best-practice and routine

 

REQUIREMENTS: Paint test at time of interview and provide own respirator.  

 

QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • 6 +years of Marine or Automotive paint repair experience in spraying basecoat/clearcoat
  • 2+ years’ experience doing small paint repairs.
  • General fiberglass knowledge is required
  • Strong and consistent attention to detail
  • Self-motivated with the ability to stay on task
  • Versatile, flexible, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities
  • Creative and innovative team player
  • Ability to comprehend product labels and instructions to ensure safe product handling
  • Proven ability to plan and handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines
  • Sound judgment with the ability to make timely decisions
  • Must have the ability to perform all physical requirements required of the position, including but not limited to ability to stand, walk, push, pull, full range of motion, bend, kneel, climb, squat for 8+ hours and lift upward of 50 lbs.
  • Willing to: Improve self / area / company (including pursuing additional training, if needed)
