Job Description

Milwaukee-based interior finishing company specializing in high-quality painting, staining, and detailed woodwork for residential and commercial projects is seeking a Painting & Stain Finishing Laborer to assist with high-end interior and exterior finishing projects. This role supports expert finishers in preparing, applying, and maintaining paint and wood finishes across residential and commercial work.

Primary Duties

• Prepare surfaces by sanding, cleaning, scraping, and masking prior to finishing

• Assist with applying:- Paint (walls, ceilings, trim)

  • Stains, sealers, varnishes, and specialty finishes

• Help mix paints and stains to achieve correct color and consistency

• Support finishing work on:- Cabinets, furniture, doors, and woodwork (shop or onsite)

• Load/unload materials and maintain tools and jobsite organization

• Tape off areas, cover fixtures, and protect surfaces during work

• Inspect and touch up finished work to meet quality standards

• Follow all jobsite safety standards

Typical Work Environment

• Mixed:- Residential & commercial job sites (field work)

  • Shop finishing facility (spray booths, staining area)

• Use of brushes, rollers, and spray equipment

• Exposure to paints, stains, dust, and fumes

Qualifications

• Entry-level to 2+ years in:- Painting, staining, or construction labor

• Ability to:- Lift materials and work on feet all day

  • Use hand and power tools

• Strong attention to detail (critical for finishing work)

• Willingness to learn:- Color matching, staining techniques, and coatings
