Job Overview:

Schwing America is seeking a detail-oriented Final Paint Prep / Assembly Technician to join our Paint Department. In this role, you'll be responsible for the final finishing, assembly, detailing, and quality touch-up of our equipment before it leaves the paint department. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with automotive body shop, collision repair, vehicle detailing, or mechanical assembly experience who takes pride in producing a high-quality finished product.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assemble and disassemble equipment following the painting process to restore units to original working condition.
  • Perform paint touch-ups using a brush as needed.
  • Repair and blend spot panel imperfections.
  • Wet sand and buff painted surfaces to achieve a high-quality finish.
  • Apply decals and vinyl graphics according to specifications.
  • Install full vinyl wraps as required.
  • Inspect completed work to ensure Schwing's quality standards are met.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area while following all safety procedures.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 2-4 years of experience in an automotive paint, collision repair, auto body, industrial paint, or vehicle detailing environment.
  • Experience with single-stage paint systems preferred.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude; automotive mechanical experience is a plus.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Ability to read and follow work instructions and established processes.
  • Forklift certification or the ability to successfully complete Schwing's forklift training.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Physical Requirements

  • Work on the production floor throughout the entire shift.
  • Frequently lift and move up to 50 pounds.
  • Stand, bend, reach, kneel, and perform repetitive motions throughout the workday.
