Purpose:
Under general supervision, performs final finishing, detailing, and assembly duties on assigned units within the Paint Department to ensure equipment meets quality and appearance standards prior to completion.
Essential Job Functions:
- Assemble and disassemble units to restore equipment to original working condition after exiting the spray booth.
- Perform paint touch-up work using a brush as instructed.
- Repair spot panels and correct paint defects as needed.
- Wet-sand and buff imperfections to achieve a high-quality finish.
- Apply vinyl decals according to decal location instructions.
- Apply full vinyl wraps as directed.
- Maintain quality standards while ensuring attention to detail throughout the finishing process.
- Follow all department processes, procedures, and safety requirements.
- Duties and responsibilities may be added, deleted, or modified at the discretion of Management.
Requirements:
Physical Demands:
- Perform work on the production floor 100% of the time.
- Lift up to 50 pounds as needed.
Education/Skills/Experience:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum of 2–4 years of experience as a detailer in a paint or auto body shop environment.
- Single-stage paint experience preferred.
- Strong mechanical aptitude; previous auto mechanic experience preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and quality workmanship.
- Certified forklift operator or ability to successfully complete Schwing forklift training.
- Ability to follow established processes and work instructions.
