General Purpose
The Paint Apprentice assists in skilled sign painting and prep activities for various signage and its components. This role focuses on learning and applying various painting techniques, preparing surfaces, mixing paints, and ensuring quality finishes, all while adhering to safety regulations and production schedules. The Paint Apprentice works under general supervision, contributing to the efficient and cost-effective creation of high-quality signs.
A Day in the Life
On a typical day, the Paint Apprentice reads job orders to understand project requirements, prepares surfaces by cleaning and priming, and mixes paints to match specific color requirements. They apply coatings using spray guns, brushes, or other tools and carefully inspect finished surfaces for quality. The apprentice also maintains a clean and organized work area, ensures equipment is in good working order, and assists with loading and unloading signs. They may also deliver signs to the installation crew and perform other tasks as assigned to support the production process.
