Job Overview:

Position: Packaging Team Lead V-5

Location: Vineland, NJ

Rate: $28.93/hour

Shift: 3 days/week, 12-hour shifts – Available for either Days or Nights (Mon-Wed & Thu-Sat)

Reports to: Production Supervisor

Job Summary

The Packaging Team Lead ensures the proper functioning of bread packaging lines in accordance with quality objectives and established output. This role is responsible for maintaining production efficiency, product quality, and food safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure all CCPs (Critical Control Points) are controlled according to procedure and report deviations to QA.

  • Set up equipment prior to start-up and coordinate line start-ups or product variety changes.

  • Monitor equipment performance, adjust as needed, and minimize stoppages or product loss.

  • Report deviations from standard procedures immediately to the supervisor.

  • Maintain continuous production emphasizing efficiency, loss reduction, product quality, and safety standards.

  • Implement proper lockout procedures during equipment stoppages.

  • Ensure the supply of raw materials, components, and necessary personnel at line start-up.

  • Calculate required crates and complete daily production reports.

  • Train new employees and support them in performing their tasks effectively.

  • Communicate operational or mechanical issues to the supervisor and maintenance team.

  • Maintain cleanliness and order in work areas.

  • Perform all other tasks related to the position as assigned.

Technical Skills

  • Basic knowledge of Excel and Minitab

  • Basic bakery knowledge

  • Follow safety, health, environmental, and company rules

  • Understanding of GMPs, HACCP, and BRC standards

General Knowledge & Work Conditions

  • Ability to read and understand written English

  • Move/transport loads up to 35 lbs.

  • Perform repetitive physical tasks with precision

  • Work in noisy, cold, and open environments with exposure to flour

  • Maintain concentration for detailed tasks

Qualifications

Education:

  • High School diploma or equivalent (GED)

Experience:

  • 2–5 years of experience in a factory or production environment

Work Schedule & Conditions:

  • Fixed schedule

  • Days, evenings, or nights (3 days/week, 12-hour shifts)

You should be proficient in:

  • Food Safety and Quality Assurance (FSQA)
  • Meets Physical Requirements
  • High School / GED
  • Excellent Communication Skills
  • Experience in a Manufacturing Environment
  • Basic Computer Skills
