The Packaging Supervisor is responsible for supervising all packaging department activities on a daily basis. This position supervises the production, quality, and warehousing of product in a manner consistent with company service and cost objectives.
Essential Job Duties
Ability to work second shift hours from 2:30 pm – 1:30 am
Flexibility to work Saturdays as required
Responsible for daily planning and team huddle to communicate production schedule
Responsible for Packing Dept setup in the morning of each production day.
Lead and coach employees to be aligned with company goals and objectives
Keep track of team key metrics (throughput, efficiency and quality)
Maintain effective communication with employees, supervisors, production manager, manufacturing support manager and quality department
Monitor product quality from raw materials to packaging materials.
Constant communication with quality personnel and line operators
Direct and train personnel on safety procedures involving specific job duties as well as general plant safety guidelines
Coordinate with Maintenance Lead/Supervisor to ready machinery for scheduled requirements
Coordinate with Maintenance Supervisor to ready machinery for scheduled requirements
Be responsible for pre-op and post sanitation
Manage employee relations within the team, employee performance reviews and the discipline process
Check and approve employees’ hours for payroll
Responsible for Employee related matters in the production dept.
Communicate with Purchasing on inventory items
Enter information to MC system daily
Communicate company policy and procedures
Ensure all crew members follow HACCP and GMP practices
Report any food safety and quality problem to personnel with authority to initiate action
In the absence of Packing Supervisor, Production Manager will cover his/her responsibilities.

Qualifications
& Experience
Two years+ experience as a supervisor in Food Manufacturing
High School Diploma or GED preferred
Bilingual in Spanish is preferred.
Experience with Food and Beverage industry preferred
Experience sanitizing food processing equipment preferred
Sanitation

Must be able to stand, walk, kneel and bend for virtually entire shift.
Occasionally required to balance or climb.
Frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Must be willing to work in a wet environment.
