Position Summary:Coordinates team to ensure efficient and effective meat packaging process. Load product into bags/machines and receive finished product from machines, according to work order specifications and customer preferences, as well as pack meat in boxes, properly bill through system, seal, label and stack finished product on pallets or carts. Able to understand job tickets and pick/assign appropriate product to fulfil orders in the appropriate order. Assemble boxes, clean packaging area and equipment ensuring all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and quality standards are met and to maintain the efficient flow of product through the production process. Functions as a team member within the department and organization, as required, and perform any duty assigned to best serve the company.
Position Responsibilities:- Review work schedule, perform safety check on equipment, obtain supplies required to perform the work and prepare for operations; At the end of the shift secure all equipment and complete all necessary paperwork.
- Check cutting list/tickets and obtain appropriate packaging materials (boxes, labels, tape, bags, wrap) from storage with pallet jack.
- Manually assemble boxes-cases, make labels and fill packaging equipment with appropriate film as required.
- Perform general housekeeping duties, clean packaging work area and equipment, maintain and abide safety and quality regulations and standards as required.
- Coordinate team's efforts to ensure efficient and effective packaging process.
- Troubleshoot simple machine issues.
- Coordinate changeover in tooling as per packing needs.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
