Job Overview:

POSITION SUMMARY

Though a bit of a mystery to those outside of the brewing industry, the elusive Packaging Operator plays a crucial role in our creation of world class beer.  The Packaging Operator is responsible to ensure that all beer that makes it into a can or keg is of the highest possible quality. 

Working in a Packaging position is fast paced, can be extremely demanding, and requires a positive attitude. Cleanliness is a high priority and we clean thoroughly and often. Then we clean some more. In the end, all of the effort is worthwhile because it is necessary in creating something we all care so much about: great beverages.

SHIFT STRUCTURE

  • Monday-Thursday

  • 4 - 10hr shifts (~40 hours per week)

  • 2nd shift hours: 2pm-12am

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Operation of can, keg, and bottle lines to package our beer and wine with high attention to quality and safety

  • Evaluate carbonation levels and adjust accordingly 

  • Collect samples for laboratory testing, ensuring package appearance reflects the quality of the product inside

  • Clean and sanitize packaging machinery and environment

  • Maintain a constant vigilance for potential mishaps

  • Operate forklift in an efficient and safe manner

  • Support packaging line by consistently supplying bottles, kegs, and packaging materials during production runs

  • Promptly pick up finished product from production lines

  • All of these duties are performed with the utmost attention to safety and efficiency

  • Creates and cultivates an inclusive environment for all guests, co-workers, and the community


EXPERIENCE/SKILLS REQUIRED

  • Must be at least 21 years of age

  • Basic mechanical aptitude

  • Self-motivation to go above and beyond for the sake of quality

  • Experience and demonstrated ability to work well within a dynamic team

  • The ability to maintain a positive attitude in a fast paced and demanding environment

  • Excellent communication skills

  • An interest in creating community through beer

  • A solid grasp on rudimentary arithmetic

  • A keen attention to detail

  • An aptitude to learn and adhere to safety standards

  • Fork lift certification (Provided by employer)

  • FIFO (First in, First Out) warehousing principals


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS 

  • The ability to work long hours on your feet 

  • The ability to work in a cold,  hot, wet, and loud environment

  • The ability to lift 50lbs to shoulder height

  • The ability to crouch, bend, lift, crawl and reach

  • The ability to remain focused and level-headed under demanding situations

COMPENSATION 

Wage information is provided in compliance with the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act and is Odell’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the compensation range and benefits offered for this position. The compensation offered to the successful applicant may vary based on factors including experience, skills, education, location, or other position-related reasons.

Starting hourly rate for entry level candidates:  $22.00/hr
