About the Role (job title and summary):The Packaging Manager oversees all phases of packaging. Must be proficient with tracking and monitoring systems. Works closely with the Facility Director for daily personnel needs and to meet quality standards. The successful candidate will be an effective leader, who possesses strong interpersonal skills, attention to detail and organizational skills. Excellent work environment with a full benefit package offered including medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, life insurance, short and long-term disability insurance, paid time off, holidays, pet insurance, and other paid leaves of absence.

How you’ll make a difference (required duties and responsibilities):

Essential Functions and Responsibilities 

  • Ensures the safe, accurate, and timely production of product packaging.

  • Ensures cleanliness, safety and efficiency of the production area

  • Maintains quality control measures to ensure a high-quality product.

  • Ensures compliance with State regulations and testing requirements

  • Understands the proper and safe handling of hazardous materials

  • Develops SOPs to ensure safety, quality, and consistent processes

  • Prepares inventory reports to ensure products are available, accurate and in demand

  • Maintains packaging inventory and to ensure a seamless production schedule.

  • Ensures accurate weighing and inventory; all products are packaged, counted, sorted, and labeled accurately

  • Effectively leads and manages the daily activities of the packaging staff, assigning tasks, adjusting schedules and assigning breaks as needed to realize high quality product results, efficient workflows and motivated staff

  • Assists with other tasks as assigned by the Facility Director.

Qualifications: 

Education and Experience 

  • Must be 21 years of age or older

  • High School diploma or equivalent

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in either a production or manufacturing environment (Cannabis industry experience – preferred)

  • Ability to work well as part of a team to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines and standard accepted practices 

Additional Qualifications

  • Familiarity with local and state cannabis regulations preferred.

  • Strong leadership and communication skills

  • Strong attention to detail, exceptional time management and organizational skills

  • Strong ability to effectively plan, prioritize and deliver against multiple priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

  • Able to maintain confidentiality; reliable and trustworthy.

  • Ability to remain calm in potential periods of high stress or unusual activity.

  • Ability to pass federal and state background checks

Computers and Technology

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook

  • Proficiency with seed-to-sale and inventory systems

Schedule:

  • This role requires daily on-site attendance for a minimum of 40 hours per week. Work schedules may be adjusted as needed to support business operations.**
