Position Summary

A local Mt. Vernon company is seeking dependable and hardworking individuals to join our Packaging Department. Team members in this role are responsible for safely operating bagging and packaging equipment, monitoring product quality, preparing finished products for shipment, and supporting daily production operations in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

This position is ideal for candidates who enjoy hands-on work, operating equipment, working as part of a team, and contributing to a safe and productive workplace.

Essential Job Duties

• Operate automated bagging and packaging equipment.
• Load empty bags onto filling equipment.
• Monitor product weight, quality, and packaging specifications.
• Palletize finished product manually or with automated equipment.
• Wrap, label, and prepare pallets for shipment.
• Perform routine inspections of equipment and work areas.
• Monitor production flow and promptly report equipment issues.
• Keep the work area clean and organized.
• Assist with product changeovers and packaging line setup.
• Follow all safety procedures, operating guidelines, and plant policies.
• Support other production and warehouse activities as assigned.

Qualifications

Required

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Ability to work in an industrial manufacturing environment.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
• Ability to stand and walk throughout an entire shift.
• Strong attendance and reliability.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Commitment to workplace safety.

Preferred

• Manufacturing experience.
• Warehouse experience.
• Forklift experience.
• Experience operating production equipment.
• Experience working around conveyors, packaging equipment, or automated machinery.

Physical Requirements

• Frequent lifting of up to 50 pounds.
• Standing, walking, bending, stooping, and reaching throughout the shift.
• Ability to work in an environment that may include dust, noise, and varying temperatures.
• Ability to wear required PPE, including safety glasses, hearing protection, and respirators when necessary.
