Asphalt & Road Construction Laborer

Liberty / Seneca / Walhalla, SC Area

Position Overview

We are looking for a dependable Asphalt & Road Construction Laborer to join a hardworking outdoor crew in the Liberty, Seneca, and Walhalla area. This is a hands-on position working assisting with paving, road work, material handling, site cleanup, and general crew support.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working outdoors, staying active, working with their hands, and being part of a team. Previous asphalt or construction experience is preferred, but candidates with a strong work ethic and willingness to learn are encouraged to apply.

What You'll Do

• Assist the crew with asphalt and road construction projects
• Operate hand and power tools such as shovels, rakes, and other job-site equipment
• Help spread and move asphalt, gravel, and other construction materials
• Load, carry, and move tools, materials, and supplies around the job site
• Assist with paving and other construction activities as directed
• Help with traffic control and maintain awareness of vehicles and equipment around the work area
• Clean tools, equipment, and work areas
• Remove debris, rubble, and other materials from the job site
• Assist other crew members with various construction tasks
• Follow all safety procedures and instructions
• Perform other duties as needed to keep the crew and project moving

What We're Looking For

• Previous asphalt, paving, construction, landscaping, or outdoor labor experience is a plus
• Ability to safely use basic hand and power tools
• Dependable attendance and a strong work ethic
• Ability to follow directions and work well with a crew
• Comfortable working around moving traffic, heavy equipment, and machinery
• Ability to work outdoors in hot, cold, rainy, and changing weather conditions
• Ability to work on uneven or rough terrain

Physical Requirements

This is a physically demanding outdoor position. Candidates must be able to:

• Stand and walk for extended periods
• Bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, climb, balance, push, pull, reach, and twist
• Frequently lift and carry materials weighing up to 50 lbs.
• Occasionally lift or move heavier materials with assistance as needed
• Work on rough or uneven terrain
• Work in close proximity to moving traffic and construction equipment
• Remain alert and aware of surroundings throughout the workday

This position is performed primarily outdoors and may involve exposure to:
