Job Description

Summary

Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Perform machine changeovers and make adjustments, basic general and preventive maintenance to on-site company equipment, machines and building. Must be able to make repairs as needed. Frequent communication with management is required and expected.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Must be able to demonstrate entry level knowledge of repair and maintenance skills including, greasing, changing bearings and seals,
• Must be able to replace chains and sprockets
• Mustbe able to assist mechanics with other types of repairs
• Mustpossessproblem-solving skills to solve plant maintenance problems.
• Provide management staff with regular updates on completion status on open jobs
• Demonstrate capability to operate and conduct preventative maintenance of machines
• Must be able to adhere to all safety policies and procedures
• Actively encourage positive employee relations in a multi-language population for understanding and cooperation between management and fellow employees
• Must be flexible to work on weekends or as needed
• All other related duties as assigned.

Education and/or Experience

• Previous ossid experience preferred
• 2 years of poultry experience preferred

Knowledge/Skills

• Excellent problem-solving skills are required
• High degree of attention to detail
• Excellent Communications skills as frequent communication is required

Physical Demands

• Must have the ability to enter all areas of the plant and offices
• Ability to deal with variant temperatures both hot and cold

Work Environment

• Work environment is predominantly wet and exposed to a variety of odors as well as presenting with hot and cold temperatures. Ice box storage and chilled warehouse conditions may be present with moderate to extreme levels of noise. Safety protection is provided.
