Orbital Welder – 2nd Shift
Location: Round Rock, TXSchedule: Monday–Friday | 2nd Shift | 3:30 PM – 12:00 AMPay: $24.00 – $30.00/hour, depending on experience
A growing precision manufacturing company in Round Rock is seeking an experienced Orbital Welder to join its 2nd shift team. This is a great opportunity for a skilled welder with experience in high-purity, close-tolerance welding who takes pride in producing clean, accurate, and consistent work.
This role supports a highly specialized manufacturing environment where quality, precision, and attention to detail are critical.
**Key Responsibilities
**
Perform orbital welding on precision tubing, parts, and valves.
Complete full joint penetration welds on square butt joints.
Work with tube sizes ranging from 1/4" to 1/2".
Set up, calibrate, and operate orbital welding power supplies using the correct welding programs.
Perform welding with hydrogen/argon purge while achieving internal purge requirements as low as 10 PPM.
Fabricate components within tight dimensional tolerances, including tolerances as low as 0.010" and angle tolerances as low as 0.5 degrees.
Inspect welds and fabricated parts to ensure quality standards and customer specifications are met.
Perform routine and preventative maintenance on welding equipment.
Follow all safety, quality, and environmental procedures.
Maintain a clean and organized work area.
Work closely with team members, leads, quality, and production staff to support department goals.
Perform other related tasks and projects as assigned.
**Qualifications
**
3–5 years of directly related orbital welding experience preferred.
Experience with complete joint penetration welding on square butt joints required.
Experience welding small-diameter tubing, parts, and valves preferred.
Knowledge of hydrogen/argon purge welding required.
Ability to achieve internal purge standards as low as 10 PPM.
Ability to work within tight dimensional and angle tolerances.
Experience setting up and calibrating orbital welding power supplies.
Ability to read and follow work instructions, specifications, drawings, and quality requirements.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Welding certification from a college, technical school, or welding program preferred.
**Physical Requirements
**
Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods during the shift.
Must be able to use hands and arms to handle parts, tools, welding equipment, and inspection materials.
Must be able to bend, reach, stoop, and perform repetitive tasks as needed.
Must be able to occasionally lift and/or move materials as required for the position.
Must be comfortable working in a precision manufacturing environment.
**Ideal Candidate
**
The ideal candidate is a dependable, detail-oriented welder with hands-on orbital welding experience and a strong understanding of precision, high-purity welding requirements. This person should be comfortable working with small-diameter tubing, tight tolerances, purge requirements, and quality-driven production standards.
