Union Position - Shifts are determined by Seniority
Performs the following functions related to the manufacture of welded chain assemblies and/or other production activities as assigned:
- Chain cutting – manual or with automatic equipment.
- Ability to accurately read a tape measure.
- Assembly – chain accessories, connecting links, body chain, etc.
- Welding – link preparation, welding and trim on specified equipment.
- Heat Treatment – austenitizing and tempering, as prescribed.
- Proof Load Testing – calibration or proof test as prescribed.
- Packaging or other related activities – as prescribed.
- Handling and movement of materials to, within, and out of the work cell.
- The duties are to operate a welder from written or verbal instructions.
- Repair chain and fabricate assemblies.
All employees are required to:
- Rely on a lead to set up and adjust equipment
- Abide by safety policies, operator preventative maintenance and housekeeping practices.
- Ensure the quality specifications of the product.
- Accurately complete process and quality documentation.
- Communicate respectfully with others.
- Work with limited supervision.
- Operate Material Handling Equipment (Forklift, Pallet Jack, etc.)
Ability to move up to higher paying labor positions.
