Job Posting Information – Heat Set Operator
A Heat Set Operator loads and unloads heat set rods.
Essential Role and Responsibilities:
- Load & unload heat set rods.
- Responsible for all aspects (quality, safety, productivity, certain preventive maintenance procedures, and general housekeeping) of heat treating operations including but not limited to manual heat set.
- Responsible for Rockwell hardness checks and making adjustments and accurately recording in the Heat Treat Database.
- All other responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications and Education Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Average computer skills and good attendance.
- Troubleshooting and problems solving skills.
- Ability to write simple correspondence and effectively present information one-on-one and in small groups. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in various units of measure using whole numbers and decimals.
- Ability to know when and how to make adjustments as required to sensors and die protections systems.
- Must be able to regularly stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms frequently.
- Must be able to frequently lift or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift or move up to 100 pounds.
- Must be able to visually assess part quantities when stacked.
- Must be able to tolerate extremely warm environment.
