POSITION PURPOSE:
This role involves managing scale house operations and performing laboratory testing to ensure accurate inventory tracking, product quality, and compliance with safety and quality standards. The successful candidate will spend approximately 40% of their time operating the scale house and 60% performing lab analyses.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES:
- Organize all paperwork, system entries, and other details around expected inbound and outbound loads to ensure efficiency in processing trucks.
- Operate scale system when on-shift to ensure accuracy of all transactions.
- Issue and maintain driver RFID cards and associated driver and carrier information.
- Interface with drivers to ensure they understand facility policies and procedures.
- Assist in maintaining the security of the plant.
- Conduct routine and specialized tests on raw materials, intermediate products, and finished products to ensure quality standards are met.
- Maintain lab equipment, calibrate instruments, and ensure proper documentation of results.
- Analyze test data and provide accurate reports to management.
- Assist in troubleshooting quality issues and implementing corrective actions.
- Maintain compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
- Perform all duties in conformance with established Feed Safety and Employee Safety policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with the Accounting Team to ensure shipment and receipt information supports Accounts Receivables and Accounts Payable activities as needed.
- Collaborate with the Compliance Team to ensure shipment and receipt information supports the Feed Safety Plan as needed.
- Communicate with the Maintenance Team to facilitate any maintenance or repairs to Scalehouse equipment.
- Responsible for production of safe animal feed and adherence to internal policies and procedures to ensure compliance with Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA).

Education/Certification:
- High school diploma required
- Associate degree or technical degree/certification preferred
Required Knowledge & Experience:
- 1-3 years experience in the operation of grain receiving preferred
- Knowledge of general office equipment required

- Punctual, with a sense of urgency in meeting all requirements of performance, including but not limited to, attendance standards and work deadlines
- Ability to maintain courteous, professional and effective working relationships with employees, suppliers, and customers
- Ability to communicate information and state problems or challenges to be resolved in a clear, concise, courteous, nondiscriminatory and professional manner and be able to provide clarification as necessary
- Capable of adapting, with minimal or no advance notice, to changes in how business is conducted and work is accomplished, with no diminishment in work performance
PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES AND REQUIREMENTS OF THIS POSITION:
This position is a Monday through Friday day position; however, there may be the need for this position to fill 12-hour-shifts from time-to-time, as required and as directed by the position supervisor. May be exposed to loud noises, wet and humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, toxic chemicals, extreme hot and cold depending on weather conditions. Must be able to climb steps and work at elevations. Must be able to speak and listen clearly. Fine visual acuity to read for accuracy.

This job may require lifting of up to 50 pounds frequently.
