We are seeking a self-starting, motivated, and organized entry level individual to join us as an Operations Quality Engineer to become a key part of the Effectors Operations Quality organization. Here at Raytheon, our Operations Quality Team assures product and process quality with an emphasis on Product Compliance, Customer Satisfaction and Continuous Improvement.
What You Will Do:
- Investigate factory metrics and identify top drivers, forecast future demand for top drivers and identify areas of opportunity for improvement.
- Engage manufacturing defect prevention teams to ensure alignment on top priorities (using baseline data and future forecast) to drive containment, Root Cause Analysis and Corrective Action Implementation.
- Perform process walks, operator observations, and lead manufacturing team discussions to drive process enhancements to reduce variation.
- Support Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) initiatives (PFMEA, control Plans, SPC, etc.) using baseline metrics and future demand with the ability to perform verification/validation of improvements and efficiencies.
- Identify supplier escapes/issues and ensure proper containment and backflow to the Supplier Quality Management team.
Qualifications You Must Have:
- Bachelor's degree in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM)-related field; preferred majors; Public Health, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Science, Industrial Engineering, Systems Engineering
- Experience in identifying root cause, initiating/implementing effective short-term and long-term corrective actions in an academic, manufacturing, or work environment.
- Experience in development/usage of metrics (quality centric a plus) that may be used to drive true root cause and long-term corrective action.
- Experience in manufacturing process knowledge and/or experience with electrical components.
- ]The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Qualifications We Prefer:
- Some level of experience with ISO 9001, AS9100, quality management systems, J-STD-001, Six Sigma, Lean experience and/or ASQ Certifications
- Demonstrated knowledge of key process characteristics and ability to implement effective changes while measuring results.
- Experience in the use of quality/lean tools such as pareto analysis, cause/effect diagrams, process mapping
- Experience in leading a cross-functional team with a focus on continuous improvement in an academic, manufacturing, or work environment.
Location Information:

- Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products.

Clearance Information:
This position requires a security clearance. DCSA Consolidated Adjudication Services (DCSA CAS), an agency of the Department of Defense, handles and adjudicates the security clearance process. The salary range for this role is 53,000 USD - 103,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.
