ABOUT THE JOB!

Gentex Corporation is seeking an Operations Program Manager (OPM) that will be responsible for planning, management, execution, monitoring, and delivery to customer contract requirements. The OPM serves as the customer's primary point of contact and works broadly and collaboratively across Gentex and partner/supplier organizations to ensure compliance to all contract terms and conditions. The OPM is accountable to actively maintain and manage scope, schedule, budget, risk, and changes while ensuring acceptable quality and compliance requirements to the program baseline. The successful candidate is a disciplined professional with excellent organizational and communication skills and proven experience in program/project management. PMP® or equivalent certification is desirable and advantageous.

Requirements

EDUCATION: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related technical field strongly preferred. A combination of education, operations & program/project management experience suitable to this role will be considered in lieu of college degree.
  • MBA or graduate degree is a plus.

EXPERIENCE:

  • Must have at least five years of escalating experience in program/project management and experience in a defense and/or highly regulated commercial industry.  
  • US government and/or Department of Defense production/development programs/projects experience is a plus. 


DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for scope, schedule & cost performance, and risk identification/mitigation on production programs. 
  • Leads cross-functional teams to ensure successful execution of assigned program (s).
  • Plans, budgets, organizes, monitors, guides, and controls Cross-Functional and/or Integrated Product Team (IPT) activities and actions to ensure program fulfillment per contract requirements.
  • Prepares and delivers internal and contract program deliverables and status reports.
  • Works with business development and product management in reviewing and developing proposals and offers to new production program/project opportunities.
  • Participates in and can lead customer negotiations to establish program/project contract baselines.
  • Participates in development and monitoring of key supplier agreements in the critical path to achieve on-time deliveries to customers.
