The Operations Manager is responsible for the day-to-day leadership and management of the main distribution center in Lino Lakes MN. This position requires a self-motivated individual,
capable of hiring, training, and leading staff, as well as handling operational and regulatory matters. The individual must be very attentive to detail, knowledgeable about the
distribution industry, and familiar with DOT, EPA, and OSHA regulations.
Requirements:
- High school diploma, Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience is preferred.
- 5+ years distribution experience with emphasis on inventory control; shipping and
- receiving; and fleet operations.
- 5+ years of management experience and supervising personnel in the distribution
- industry, including a working knowledge of DOT, EPA, and OSHA laws and regulations.
- Computer literacy with Microsoft Office and familiarity with inventory management software program.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
- Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to work as part of a team and interact with executive leaders;
- Ability to handle emergencies during non-business hours.
Essential Functions:
- Proactively leads and manages safety for the Lino Lakes operation through correct implementation, regular employee training and maintenance of company equipment.
- Identifies, prioritizes and resolves problems, including customer and/or supplier quality problems; gathers and analyzes information to develop solutions; accomplishes multiple tasks within established time frames.
- Provides leadership by example; encourages teamwork; is accessible to staff at all times; provides regular feedback to warehouse staff; develops subordinates’ skills and encourages growth.
- Maintains open communication within area of responsibility; listens and gets clarification when necessary; responds informatively to questions; and keeps employees informed to the company and warehouse plans and progress.
- Schedules truck drivers, audits weekly time sheets and log reports; and uses a global positioning system (GPS);
- Acts with ethics and integrity; maintains privacy and confidentiality while protecting the assets of the company.
- Performs physical activity, such as walking and standing on hard surfaces for extended period of time, climb stairs and ladders, operate a forklift, and lift up to 50 pounds; able to withstand exposure to loud noises and some chemical hazards.
