SUMMARY

The Operations Manager is responsible for leading the Production Team and overseeing safety, quality, and delivery of products. This person will direct and coordinate production processes and resources to achieve production and quality standards and meet customer satisfaction goals.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Plan and organize daily activities related to production and operations.
  • Supervisory responsibilities including training employees, planning, assigning, and directing work, appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing complaints and resolving problems.
  • Ensure employee discussions, documentation, and performance evaluations are performed in accordance with company policies and procedures. Partner with Talent Management Retention (TMR) representative(s) when necessary.
  • Maintain a safe work environment; ensure all federal, state, and local safety rules and regulations are followed
  • Read and analyze daily reports, production schedules, and other records to determine production requirements and to evaluate current production estimates and outputs
  • Lead production and L10 meetings
  • Ensure KPIs are met
  • Execute daily inventory analysis; identifies and resolves discrepancies and problems.
  • Participate as an active member of the Schupan safety committee
  • Assist with vendor and customer problems.
  • Determine labor needs to meet production goals.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively in order to: actively listen and ask appropriate questions, speak in front of large groups including coworkers and leadership teams.
  • Must have the ability to positively influence others to perform their jobs effectively and be responsible for making decisions.
  • Act as a mentor to effectively motivate, direct, and evaluate the work of others.
  • Follow ISO policies and procedures as required.
  • Must be able to interact in person with coworkers and the public.
  • Must be able to handle high stress situations.
  • Maintain regular and predictable attendance.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications


POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent (required)
  • Minimum of 5 years in a manufacturing leadership role (required)
  • Experience with Six Sigma and Lean manufacturing processes (highly preferred)

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Knowledge of production processes, quality control, and techniques for maximizing the effective manufacturing of products
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite, and other production, shipping, and manufacturing software

 

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

 

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk, working on a computer and using a keyboard
  • Routinely required to stand and walk; use hands to handle and feel; reach with arms and hands; as well as climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl
  • Routinely lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds
  • Specific vision requirements include depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Must be able to wear all necessary safety equipment.

ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS

 

  • Exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, extreme cold and heat and outside weather
  • Routinely work in noisy environment
  • Routinely exposed to moving and mechanical parts and risk of electrical shock
