Summary:
Responsible for effectively managing the Operations and related personnel (shipping, receiving, transportation, production and warehouse) to meet/exceed established profit plan targets, targeted sales growth, and established corporate goals. This includes achieving established measures and ensuring year-over-year improvements in profitability, accident frequencies, shrinks expense targets and service levels.
Responsibilities:
Contributes to the profitability and efficiency of the Operations Departments (Shipping, Receiving, Production, Transportation and Warehouse)
Collaborate across departments to drive optimal productivity; foster an environment in which diverse backgrounds are respected and valued
Continuously develop, improve, and refine current systems to reduce warehouse/transportation costs, while continually improving customer service.
Responsible for all aspects of maintaining an accurate inventory– including but not limited to :leading inventory counts(daily/weekly/monthly) and establishing a culture of commitment to in inventory verification
Be a role model in applying The Trinity Vision as directed by Upper Management, oversee all levels of employees and foster a positive working environment
Develops plans for efficient use of materials, equipment and employee resources
Promptly and efficiently solve any issues that may arise in operations
Ensure that all products shipped and received are exceeding quality standards and remain within Food Safety compliance
Implement methods to minimize costs and improve efficiency among functional areas
Track and manage overtime effectively
Ability to delegate authority and responsibilities to managers/supervisors
Maintains a high level of efficiency and professionalism throughout the operations
Demonstrates strong communication skills
Mentor, coach, guide, motivate and support direct/ indirect reports appropriately and oversee required training.
Identify and implement various methods for recognizing and motivating employees.
Conduct regular meetings with staff and participate in various interdepartmental meetings to help resolve issues and improve service levels.
Implement, communicate and uphold company procedures and policies related to Operations and ensure adherence.
Create, implement and drive GMP’s and Operational efficiencies within departments
Ensure Occupational Health and Safety Act, HAACP, and Sysco Corporate Policy compliance.
Create and drive a proper culture of Safety
Create and drive a proper culture of Food Safety
Assist in the development and implementation of the Operations profit plan.
Ensure personal training requirements are met in order to achieve company goals and long term needs.
Effectively communicate with Upper Management and Sales team regarding operations, operational issues and operational processes
Participate in weekly Management Meetings
Ability and willingness to work any shift because of the 24/7 environment
Education and/or Experience:
Associates or Bachelor's degree from four-year College or University preferred
Ten years related experience and extensive knowledge in the Seafood Industry
Strong Purchasing experience (10+ years’ experience)
Strong Knowledge of Inventory Management (10+ years’ experience)
Experience with negotiating with outside contractors
Experience with maintaining facilities and equipment
This work requires the following activities: sitting for long periods of time, finger dexterity for activities such as data entry and calculator use, repetitive motions, speaking, hearing, visual acuity, and mobility between departments. Extensive telephone work; able to receive detailed information through oral communication. The work is performed primarily indoors.
