Summary

The Operations Manager is responsible for all manufacturing activities.

Essential Functions:

Ensure sound, lean manufacturing practices are followed to support the goals of the organization
Ensure maximization of throughput of good product through the plant
Manage and oversee the facility inside and out such that it presents a professional image
Ensure a safe work environment and safe work practices through a proactive safety program
Manage and supervise the development of all direct reports
Review application/resume; interview job applicants; evaluate applicant skills and make recommendations regarding applicant's qualifications for casting, finishing and maintenance positions
Monitor probationary period progress and work with supervisors to assure any deficiencies are proven corrected or the probationary period is not passed
Ensure continual progress is made on cross training within and across production departments
Continue company focus on employee engagement
Create and drive continuous improvement agenda that ensures productivity and plant projects are successfully executed
Ensure that cost, quality, delivery goals and other KPI goals are met
Perform any and all other job-related tasks as assigned

Requirements

Requirements

Bachelor's degree and a desire to be a continual learner
Strong leadership
Well versed on computers, data retrieval and analysis
Automotive Manufacturing Industry experience of at least five years
Prior work with manufacturing processes; Machining, Broaching, Assembly, Finishing & Maintenance Manufacturing experience working with aluminum products preferred
Prior Operations Management experience
Lean Manufacturing
Experience with hiring new team members and mentoring
