What You’ll Do
As our Operations Manager, you’ll have the opportunity to lead our Denver Operations team with a focus on safety, continuous improvement, communication and strategic planning to provide an exceptional Metrie experience for our customers. You’ll also have the chance to expand your talents by overseeing an operation that distributes both doors and millworks to our customer base.
Location: This position is based out of our Denver, Colorado branch.
Responsibilities
- Lead, direct, and oversee the day-to-day warehouse activities including but not limited to shipping, receiving, inventory control, and the maintenance of all warehouse equipment, machinery, and facilities.
- Ensure staff are fully trained and set clear expectations for the team to meet daily and weekly targets.
- Manage new hire orientation and onboarding for all new employees; conduct new hire check-ins during the first 100 days and annual performance reviews.
- Work with the Regional Director and/or Branch Manager to set the budget(s); ensure the facility meets its operational KPIs, and the regional team/leaders are kept informed.
- Administrate warehouse safety programs to provide a safe and clean workspace for employees within all state/provincial and federal safety regulations.
- Ensure operational plans are executed, Metrie Standard Best Practices are achieved and sustained; collaborate with the Ops Excellence Team on new project, systems and process improvement opportunities while sharing results/best practices with greater Operations community.
- Collaborate with Sales Operations Managers and regional Sales team to ensure our customers’ service and quality expectations are met; identify cost effective solutions to align with our customer segmentation model and strategic product goals.

- Identify and develop high potential talent for cross functional responsibilities, leadership roles and internal growth within the company.
- Develop and maintain carrier relationships to ensure communications and services provided meet the company’s and customers’ needs.
- Review, select and continuously evaluate outside vendors providing services to the operations including maintenance, facilities, equipment.
- Partner with leasing company to oversee all aspects of facility maintenance department.
- Lead all cycle count/physical inventory processes to achieve benchmark targets; implement special projects to improve warehouse operations across the facility and/or company.
- Ensure compliance with all local, state/provincial and federal laws and regulations related to people, operations, safety, etc.
- May oversee Pre-Hung department operations and employees at certain facilities.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in related field or proven experience in the manufacturing, production, or distribution environment.
Experience supervising and motivating others.
Knowledge of warehousing, logistics, operations, transportation and supply chain principles and processes.
Strong communication and customer service skills; interpersonal and organizational skills with the ability to handle changing priorities and use of good judgement in stressful situations.
Demonstrated leadership skills in implementing and managing change through process improvement and reviewing performance metrics.
Experience with the full staffing lifecycle, including interviewing, hiring, performance management, promotions, and termination.
LEAN/business improvement experience with ability to plan, organize and manage multiple projects & set priorities.
Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office (Teams, Excel, PowerPoint); SAP and/or Warehouse Management System (WMS) experience preferred.
Ability to read and analyze reports and SOPs related to warehouse operations (P&L, budget preparation, inventory, labor/overtime costs, turnover, engagement, and monitoring expenses).
Knowledge of millwork and/or Metrie products & services preferred.

In adherence to the principle of pay transparency, we are pleased to disclose the base pay for this full- time position at Metrie. The base pay range for this role starts at $110,000/year. It is important to note that this position may also qualify for discretionary bonuses or commission payments. The specific base pay within the range will be contingent upon an individual's skills, qualifications, experience, and geographical location. Furthermore, it is essential to highlight that our remuneration ranges are established based on the role, level, and location.
