The Operational Excellence Engineer drives continuous improvement and optimization of operational processes, focusing on enhancing efficiency, reducing costs, and fostering a culture of excellence within the organization. The person is a highly collaborative change agent who prioritizes effective cross-departmental communication and consistently delivers measurable results through data-driven decision-making and team engagement.

  • Champion a culture of Operational Excellence, promoting accountability, innovation, and shared ownership of improvement initiatives.
  • Support the development and execution of the annual Productivity Plan, aligning efforts with business objectives and resource capacity.
  • Facilitate communication and collaboration across cross-functional teams, serving as a liaison between operations, engineering, planning, quality, and other stakeholders.
  • Conduct value stream mapping, process mapping, and root cause analysis to identify and resolve performance gaps.
  • Identify, analyze, and implement process improvements that result in cost savings, reduced waste, and increased efficiency.
  • Drive financially justified improvements focused on safety, quality, delivery, labor, and material productivity.
  • Ensure sustainable improvements through effective change management, follow-up processes, and reinforcement of standard work.
  • Act with urgency, discipline, and clear communication to ensure initiatives are completed, embedded, and scaled.
  • Exhibit great teamwork and engagement with all key stakeholders. Create demand for Operational Excellence team.
  • Could potentially come in contact with hazardous chemicals.
  • Any other tasks as required fulfilling Lincoln Industries' Beliefs and Drivers.

ORGANIZATIONAL STRUCTURE:

  • Reports to: Manager, Operational Excellence
  • Supervises: N/A

QUALIFICATIONS: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required. Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be substituted for the expected levels of education and experience required.

Education and/or Experience:

Expected:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in a manufacturing or process environment using continuous improvement techniques/tools (i.e. Lean, Six Sigma, 5S, VSM, etc.)
  • Proficient in Power BI, Jira, or similar tools for data visualization and reporting.
  • Green Belt Certification or be actively enrolled in green belt certification training class
  • Ability to build teams, lead cross functional groups, and drive performance.
  • Strong project management and communication skills – shop floor through management

Preferred:

  • PMP/CAPM certification or equivalent experience in managing complex projects.
  • Black Belt Certification or be actively enrolled in Black Belt certification training class

Communication Skills:

Must be able to read, write and comprehend the English language.
