Job Overview:

We are seeking experienced Okuma 5-axis Machinists to join our team on our 1st and 2nd shifts. Our 2nd shift receives a 10% shift differential (in addition to hourly rate).

**The position:

**

We are seeking experienced Okuma 5-axis Machinists to operate our CNC machines utilizing the OSP-P300 CNC Control. You will be operating machines for valuable castings/forgings to manufacture them into quality parts for customers. Typical 1st shift hours are 6:00 am-4:30 pm and 2nd shift hours are 4:20 pm-2:50 am Monday - Friday. Availability for overtime, including weekends and during peak production times, is a plus. This position offers a hire-on-bonus!

**Job duties:

**

-Follow written instructions and read and interpret blueprints and specifications.

-Performs a complex series of progressive machining operations on a diversified line of work to close and exact tolerances and finish specifications.

-Able to perform simple set-ups of many jobs. May operate more than one machine.

-Checks parts for conformance to specifications with precision gauges.

-Read and react accordingly to Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) reports

-Complete problem-solving activities with a continuous improvement mindset

-Comply with safety regulations and maintain a clean, orderly work area.

-Perform all other duties as assigned or needed.

**The Right Person/What we need from you:

**

-Preferred five or more years of combined formal training and true five-axis experience or equivalent.

-Broad knowledge of machining techniques and familiarity with CNC machine tool operating procedures, specifically the Okuma 5-axis OSP-P300 CNC Control.

-Ability to apply recognized tooling and procedures where tolerances are close

-Experience with part loading/unloading utilizing a crane and basic material handling knowledge

-Experience with manual clamping/part location as well as

-Experience with tool setup and compensation processes

-Geometric tolerancing and dimensioning trained

-Must be able to lift and move objects up to 50 pounds consistently with heavier weight necessary at times.

-Must be able to read and write English. Basic computer skills are a plus.
