Position Summary
The NPDI Engineer, Turnkey Deployment is a lead service role responsible for planning and executing turnkey deployment programs across complex customer environments. This role owns execution readiness and delivery alignment for programs involving thermal and AC/DC power management products, ensuring deployment strategies are scalable, repeatable, and aligned with serviceability standards.
The role collaborates closely with Engineering, Product Management, Service Operations, Technical Support, and other cross-functional stakeholders to drive program success. This includes enabling integrated solutions and modular deployments, supporting field execution, and ensuring deployment risks—including failure modes—are proactively identified and mitigated.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead turnkey deployment programs across NPDI initiatives managing risks and execution dependencies to ensure on-time and high-quality delivery. Interfacing with R&D engineering and product management to implement the Global Serviceability Specification in new products
- Represent Services in design reviews, product reviews, and phase gate milestones; ensuring deployment, serviceability, and field execution considerations are incorporated early in development.
- Own Services deployment readiness, ensuring products and solutions are fully executable in the field with validated procedures, tools, and trained teams.
- Collaborate on failure mode effects and analysis evaluations (FMEA) for field deployment, identifying potential risks in thermal and AC/DC power systems, validating mitigation strategies, and ensuring learnings are incorporated into deployment standards and service procedures.
- Coordinate cross-functional execution alignment across Engineering, Services, Operations, and external stakeholders to remove roadblocks and maintain program momentum.
- Develop and standardize deployment playbooks, including installation procedures, commissioning workflows, troubleshooting guidance, and service documentation to ensure consistent execution globally.
- Monitor early deployment performance and quality, tracking startup outcomes and field issues, and driving feedback loops into Engineering and Product Management for continuous improvement.
- Support parts and logistics readiness, including spare strategy, service kits, and materials planning required to sustain deployment and operational support.
- Attend beta startups and first-article startups to ensure service readiness.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Thermal, or related discipline) or equivalent experience.
- Required technical experience:
- Strong background in thermal management systems (e.g., liquid cooling, high-density cooling applications).
- Experience with AC/DC power management systems and their application in critical infrastructure deployments.
- Experience with integrated and modular solutions and systems.
- Minimum of 5-8 years of experience interacting with customers on a technical level
- Proven experience leading or coordinating cross-functional programs or complex deployments involving multiple stakeholders.
- Experience working with field service, service operations, or customer-facing technical execution teams, particularly in deployment or commissioning scenarios.
- Ability to interpret technical documentation (electrical diagrams, mechanical drawings, piping layouts) and apply insights to deployment readiness and troubleshooting.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills, with the ability to drive alignment across technical and operational teams.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and standard collaboration tools.
Preferred Qualifications
- Project Management Certification, PMP
- Advanced Engineering Masters, MBA, or Engineering Management Certifications
- Experience within standard product development lifecycle and APQP processes.
Working Conditions
- Fast-paced, execution-focused Services environment requires strong cross-functional coordination and decision-making.
- Travel up to 20% may be required based on deployment needs (domestic and international).
