Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated NPD Supply Chain Commodity Manager to join our Boulder, CO supply chain team. In this role, you will be responsible for leading supply chain strategy, readiness, and execution for new product development programs. This role partners closely with Engineering, Supply Chain, Quality, and Finance to ensure new products are developed, validated, and launched with a resilient, cost effective, and scalable supply chain. The role requires strong project management, supplier engagement, and technical understanding to proactively mitigate risk and enable successful product commercialization.

 

In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

  • Serve as the primary supply chain leader for new product development programs, from concept through launch.
  • Develop and manage integrated supply chain project plans, including schedule, risks, dependencies, and deliverables.
  • Facilitate cross-functional alignment with Design, Engineering, Supply Chain, Quality, Operations, and Logistics.
  • Drive clear decisions and trade-offs across cost, timeline, manufacturability, and supply chain risk for the sourcing and qualification of mechanical components.
  • Ensure suppliers, materials, and processes are fully ready to support EVT, DVT, PVT, and launch builds.
  • Oversee BOM accuracy, item creation, lead-time validation, and supply chain configuration setup in ERP.
  • Partner with planning and logistics to ensure timely delivery of prototype materials, pilot build materials, and launch inventory.
  • Identify early material risk (long lead times, single-sourced items, capacity constraints) and collaborate with supply chain staff to drive mitigation actions.

For This Role, You Will Need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering preferred; will also consider bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, or related field.
  • MBA preferred.
  • 4 years of experience in engineering, supply chain, operations, or sourcing - in a manufacturing environment with mechanical components.
  • Direct experience supporting new product development or new product introduction programs.
  • Strong project management capability with experience leading cross-functional teams.
  • Working knowledge of manufacturing processes, supplier quality, and procurement.
  • Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems and project management tools.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience in complex hardware, electronics, medical devices, automotive, aerospace, or similar industries preferred.

Our compensation philosophy is simple: we pay a competitive base salary, within the local market in which we operate, and reward performance during our annual merit review process. The starting salary for this role is $95,500 - $115,000 annually commensurate with the skills, talent, capabilities and experience each candidate brings to a role.
