Position: Maintenance A Shift Team Lead – Claremont Fiber Plant

Reports To: Fiber Plant Maintenance Manager

Position Description:

  • Individual will be an employee of the Fiber Plant Maintenance department. The person shall provide support to all areas of the fiber facility
  • Perform all duties of a Maintenance TSA as required.
  • Demonstrate good organizational, problem solving, team-building and leadership skills
  • Periodically review the shifts workload and assign or delegate responsibility for specified work to other members of the maintenance team
  • Assist in managing the priorities and saturation (workload) of the assigned shift.
  • Become a CMMS (SAP) systems expert
  • Actively promote safety and identify unsafe actions and conditions and recommend corrective actions
  • Act as a first responder to maintenance breakdown situations involving electrical, mechanical or PC/PLC malfunctions
  • Complete Preventative and corrective maintenance tasks in a timely manner
  • Complete work orders and issue parts via SAP CMMS system
  • Act as a Medical first responder in the Fiber plant
  • Compliant with all requirements in 40 CFR 261-265 concerning hazardous wastes including but not limited to labeling, storage and transportation of hazardous wastes from production areas to Waste Storage Pad
  • Work with the technical staff to resolve daily production issues
  • Comply with all applicable safety procedures and ISO14001 EMS guidelines
  • Maintain exceptional housekeeping in maintenance support areas (5S compliance)
  • Prepare and execute shift turnovers
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor or manager

Education:

Required:

  • Relevant technical degree or equivalent experience

Preferred:

  • Associates Degree in Engineering or technology
  • Licensed Industrial Tradesman
  • NCDOL Journeyman Apprentice – Trade Skills Program

Experience

Required:

  • Must have good people skills in leadership, coaching, and teambuilding to strengthen and cultivate relationships
  • Ability to read and understand Electrical and Mechanical schematics to aid in equipment troubleshooting
  • Experience in electrical and mechanical troubleshooting
  • Must be able to specify, locate, and order parts and materials as necessary
  • Ability to communicate effectively to all levels of leadership within the organization, both orally and in written form

Preferred:

  • Experience in fiber optic manufacturing
  • Experience with Servo control drives and motors
  • Familiar with PLC logic and basic troubleshooting
  • Experience with (or knowledge of) facilities equipment such as pumps, boilers/chillers, cooling towers, baghouses, and scrubbers
