Job Description
You will be the NKAD Project Engineer for the Non‑Kinetic Air Defense (NKAD) and Counter‑Swarm team. In this role you will join a growing team responsible for design, prototype, test and rapid fielding of solutions within highly accelerated timelines for all services.
What You Will Be Doing
As the NKAD Project Engineer you will be responsible for driving end‑to‑end project execution within accelerated timelines. You will partner with Integrated Product Team leads and cross‑functional members to ensure successful delivery.
Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Lead design, prototyping, testing, and rapid fielding of NKAD solutions.
- Coordinate cost, schedule, procurement, and risk management with IPT leads.
- Facilitate formal and informal reviews with internal stakeholders, government customers, and industry partners.
- Develop and maintain project documentation, action items, and deliverables.
- Mentor junior engineers and support cross‑functional collaboration.

MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN - This position requires the ability to obtain a Secret security clearance.
Basic Qualifications
1) Bachelor’s degree in engineering or mix of equivalent education/experience
2) Demonstrated ability to lead a team to complete highly technical projects on very short timelines
3) U.S. Citizen with ability to obtain DoD Secret level clearance
4) Hands-on experience with data manipulation, including macros (e.g. VBA), scripting (e.g. python), big data tools (e.g. PowerBI, Tableau), and/or RAG-based AI
Desired skills
1) (Highly Desired) Demonstrated ability as a player & coach in highly dynamic, fast-paced technical environments
2) Knowledge of agile practices and their practical application in hardware- and software-based solutions
3) Hands on rapid prototyping (or equivalent) experience in hardware- or software-based efforts. This includes active or recent personal experiences such as rebuilding cars, flying modified UAVs, or developing software in any part of the stack
4) Demonstrated ability to manage costs and manpower needs

Ability to work remotely
Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedule Information
Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.
National Pay Statement
Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $85,500 - $150,765. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
This position is incentive plan eligible.
Premium Pay Statement
Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in most major metropolitan areas in California, Massachusetts, and New York is $98,300 - $170,315. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
