The Parts Warehouse Laborer maintains production and distribution of product by pulling orders from
inventory; delivering production materials and supplies; staging finished product. Performs manual and clerical duties related to shipping, receiving, inspecting, storing, issuing and delivering a variety of materials, equipment and supplies. This position is considered safety-sensitive and requires employees to safely perform all essential job functions in accordance with Company policies and safety procedures.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Counts, weighs, or measures incoming or outgoing items to compare identifying information and variety against bills of lading, invoices, orders or other records.
- Examines incoming shipments for damage or shortages and corresponds with shipper/receiver to rectify.
- Operates material handling equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, hand trucks or dollies to move stock or reorganize storage.
- Safe movement of parts, components to each location throughout the yard with the least amount of rework as possible.
- Manually loading or unloading materials onto or off pallets.
- Assists with supply of products to production line.
- Counter service/forklift service.
- Utilizes computerized or automated systems to accomplish tasks.
- Maintenance of pick lists for goods, shorts list and warehouse cleanliness.
- Monitor/audit inventory levels by cycle count and bin locations.
- Process accurate paperwork.
- Ensure all tasks are accurate.
- Completion of pick lists, requisition of goods.
- Ensure inventory accuracy on raw material, parts inventory, WIP and warehouse items.
- Coordinate internal parts requests system, pick and deliver parts to customers/areas on time.
- Keep current with schedule.
- Process receiving tickets.
- Completes paperwork or forms required for documentation.
- Completion of bill of lading and receiving tickets.
- Scheduling of trucks for shipping.
- Provide goods to production.
- Practice safe work procedures at all times; lead by example.
- Provide working environment that is safe, clean and healthy.
- Completion of safety pre-check on mobile equipment.
- Support 5s, maintaining a clean and organized warehouse.
- Support any mission, vision, budgets, goals and objectives.
- Assists with support for the production line.
Education and Experience:
- Previous experience in a warehouse or logistics environment preferred.
- Certification in forklift operation is a plus.
Specific Skills:
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and listening communication skills
- Strong reading comprehension, writing, mathematical, and organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy
- Proficient in Word, Excel, email, document management, warehouse management systems, and order processing systems
- Experienced with packaging tools including staplers, tape guns, strapping machines, hammers, and power drills
- Able to establish work priorities and ensure deadlines are met
- Skilled in operating material handling equipment such as forklifts, dollies, hand trucks, jacks, pallet trucks, wrapping machines, and hand tools
- Stand and walk for extended periods, including shifts of up to twelve (12) hours.
- Bend, stoop, squat, kneel, crouch, twist, crawl, and reach overhead.
- Climb ladders, stairs, platforms, trailers, and production equipment.
- Lift, carry, push, and pull materials weighing up to fifty (80) pounds independently.
- Lift, carry, push, and pull heavier materials with assistance or mechanical lifting devices.
- Use hands, fingers, arms, and shoulders for repetitive gripping, grasping, pulling, pushing, and manipulation of tools and equipment.
