Overview

Abacus Technology is seeking a Network Automation Engineer to provide router and boundary network infrastructure support for the Air Force Intranet Control (AFINC) III Support program at Maxwell AFB/Gunter Annex.  This is a full-time position.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain scripts and automation tools for network device provisioning process, enterprise scale network changes, and data collection for reporting or analysis as part of a proactive network management approach.
  • Assist in diagnosis and remediation of advanced network problems and drive innovative solutions to reduce failure.
  • Aid in reducing manual tasks and improve service delivery and consistency to a global 24/7 network of routers, VPNs, load balancers, firewalls, servers, and switching hardware aiming to maximize efficiency and security.

Qualifications

5+ years experience in scripting to automate network devices.  HS diploma or GED.  Must be Security+ certified.  Must hold one of the following certifications or be able to obtain with 90 days of hire: CCNP, Palo Alto Network Security Professional, and Palo Alto Security Operations Professional.  Additional Cisco and Palo Alto certifications desired.  Experience with scripting languages such as: Python, TCL, Go Lang, PowerShell, and Perl to automate network device provisioning process, execute network changes and obtain data collection for reporting or analysis.  Experience with network automation tools including: Ansible, Terraform, Netmiko, PyATS, Puppet, and Chef.  Experience installing, configuring, troubleshooting, upgrading, patching, and hardening routers, serial consoles, load balancers, and switches.  Able to assess infrastructure, identify areas for improvement, and recommend solutions.  Knowledge of relevant server-side tools and technologies.  Extensive experience with security as it pertains to network architecture, desktops, laptops, servers, firewalls, routers, and intrusion detection systems (IDS).  Solid customer service and communication skills are critical as well as the ability and willingness to communicate effectively and appropriately in an empathetic and understanding manner.  Must be a US Citizen and hold a current Top Secret clearance with SCI access (TS/SCI).
