Abacus Technology is seeking a Network Administrator to support voice and data networks for the 14th Flying Training Wing at Columbus AFB. This is a full-time position.
Manage, operate, maintain, and administer the base voice system to include but not limited to the network table and networking plan for multiple systems; additions; deletions; modifications to user’s voice system resources; password resets; distribution list; holiday schedule tables; daylight savings time; synchronization with the phone switch; proper functioning of auto attendant feature. Support diagnostic, maintenance, programming changes on current software applications, and perform system backups of system configuration and data. Operate and maintain the Avaya AS5300 voice system and associated equipment. Operate and maintain the installation’s ACD to include: reconfiguration; blocking and busying out trunks; configuring and modifying call routing; monitoring system operations; updating firmware; initiating least cost routing; updating the dial plan; and other related services to operate and maintain the ACD system. Produce semi-annually system capacity records for the voice switch and remotes as applicable. Monitor all local communication systems to facilitate reliable base communications using government-supplied AISs (i.e., CiscoWorks, Solarwinds) to provide alerts, warnings, or compare activity to baselines and share results with 14 CS/CFP. Operate, maintain, administer and configure all devices from the core, distribution and access points to desktops that are within the Columbus network enclave (i.e., switches, routers, servers, VoIP switches). Apply DISA STIGs and vendor configurations in accordance with set guidelines and schedule using system security plan (SSP) and with WCO validation as applied for servers. Manage the government Network Management Systems (NMSs) and Base Information Protect (BIP) area. Perform network and circuit baseline and quality check test and evaluation for interfaces and connections between infrastructure devices. Provide VPN client installation, assistance, troubleshooting, and configurations to local client system administrators as requested. Operate, maintain, administer, manage, and document all service access points (AP) to and from CAFB networks in accordance with the applicable accreditation package and AF standards. Install, remove, and replace all wireless equipment connected to the CAFB network and is responsible for touch maintenance of wireless equipment as required and directed by DoDIN Ops Center. Provide quarterly health and usage reports for all CAFB wireless AP to 14 CS/CC and provide subject matter expertise recommendation to meet future and growing needs. Provide Tier I and Tier II support to units with DoD and AF authorized WLANs running on CAFB. Provide Tier II troubleshooting actions on government-furnished mobile voice devices. Provide and perform Tier II support to base users, unit CLs, and system administrators with application, operation, security, installation and administration of hardware, software, specialized applications, standard desktop and mobile devices, and secure systems.
3+ years experience in a network role with experience supporting VoIP systems. Bachelor’s degree in a related field desired. Must be Security+ certified. Must be CCNA certified or able to obtain within six months of hire. Thorough knowledge of routers, switches, and firewalls. Able to assess infrastructure, identify areas for improvement, and recommend solutions. Must have experience in a Cisco VoIP environment. Experience with Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM) administration and Cisco Unity Connection (CUC). Familiar with Avaya VoIP solutions and technologies. Able to provide technical guidance and direction to system administrators and help desk technicians. Knowledge of relevant server-side tools and technologies. Experience with network monitoring and management using an automated solution. Experience installing, configuring, and maintaining servers and desktops in an enterprise organization. Extensive experience with security as it pertains to network architecture, desktops, laptops, servers, firewalls, routers, and intrusion detection systems (IDS). Solid customer service and communication skills are critical as well as the ability and willingness to communicate effectively and appropriately in an empathetic and understanding manner. Must be a US Citizen and hold a current Secret clearance.
