Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, this person will be responsible for maintaining production and quality by ensuring the operation of machinery and mechanical equipment. This position may at times be required to work various shifts including days, nights, weekends to maintain a 27/7 manufacturing operation.
Essential Job Responsibilities
- Locate sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation, listening for problems, using precision measuring and testing instruments.
- Analyze test results, machine error messages, or information obtained from operators to diagnose equipment problems.
- Disassemble machinery or equipment to remove parts and make repairs.
- Repair or replace broken or malfunctioning components of machinery or equipment.
- Examine parts for defects, such as breakage or excessive wear.
- Ability to safely use hoists, cranes, hand, and power tools.
- Fabricate repair parts by using machine shop tools and equipment.
- Record repairs and maintenance performed using maintenance work order system.
- Ensure continuous operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements and using diagrams, sketches, operation manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications to perform troubleshooting malfunctions.
- Clean, lubricate, or make necessary adjustments to equipment and machinery.
- Assist in Continuous Improvement projects and 5S events.
- Maintain safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Contributes to team effort with a positive attitude.

Qualifications
- Associate degree in the Maintenance field or related experience within a manufacturing setting; Troubleshooting experience including mechanical, pneumatics, hydraulics, motor controls.
- Equipment Maintenance, Technical Understanding, ability to Deal with Uncertainty, Safety, Power Tools, Attention to Detail, Flexibility, Minimal Supervision, Job Knowledge, Productivity and Troubleshooting Abilities.
Additional Information
- May lift up to 50 lbs., carrying, pushing, and/or pulling; frequent climbing and balancing including stairs, ladders and scaffolding; frequent stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching; significant fine finger dexterity.
Generally, the job requires 5% sitting, 50% walking, and 45% standing.
- Will be required to complete and pass an internal mechanical test.
